Kevin & Val Go To...(Six Flags) Magic Mountain, July 10, 2022. Coasters and commentary!

Join Val and I for a trip down memory lane as we stroll through SFMM on a bright summer Sunday. We were a week too early to experience the new Wonder Woman RMC single rail coaster, but we did get front row on 4 other coasters including a duel on Twisted Colossus! Kudos Sunday morning Colossus crew. Overall a fun and hot half day in the park. Enjoy!

Magic Mountain Mondays #41: Gold Rusher ready brakes

Can you handle the brakes? Or are you gonna miss that line?

In August of 1995, I took a bunch of photos (on film no less) at Six Flags Magic Mountain using an inexpensive camera. I was working as an Operations supervisor at the time, and the purpose of the project was to create a slide show for an employee appreciation party for our Operations staff. I’ve carted these slides around for over 25 years and I finally had them digitally transferred this year. About 2/3s of them aren’t available for posting because they are crew pictures and I have no way to request permission to post them. But I do have 50+ available that are just various shots of the park. Enjoy this time capsule from August 1995.

Kevin & Val Go (Back) To...SeaWorld San Diego May 22, 2022. Coaster redux and aquariums!

Completing our short San Diego weekend, we're back for more SeaWorld San Diego. After our mandatory early morning coaster rides, we turn our attention (mostly) to the indoor aquariums. Witness: sharks, turtles, penguins, hide-and-seek beluga, walrus, otters, sea lions, seals...whew! I also took some guidance on setting up specific low-light settings for my GoPro 9 and overall I was pleased with the results considering this was a first try. Only the penguin encounter was too dark for my trial settings. If you want to check out low-light settings for a GoPro, check out this video: https://youtu.be/D231qlfSaTQ

That's our wrap on SeaWorld San Diego in May 2022. Enjoy!
