Magic Mountain Mondays #29: Tidal Wave

Removed as of 2021 to make way for a new single rail RMC (that’s an upgrade if I’ve ever seen one), Tidal Wave was Magic Mountain’s entry in the brief early 90s “chute-the-chutes” craze. There’s a way to do this type of ride well, and this isn’t it.

In August of 1995, I took a bunch of photos (on film no less) at Six Flags Magic Mountain using an inexpensive camera. I was working as an Operations supervisor at the time, and the purpose of the project was to create a slide show for an employee appreciation party for our Operations staff. I’ve carted these slides around for over 25 years and I finally had them digitally transferred this year. About 2/3s of them aren’t available for posting because they are crew pictures and I have no way to request permission to post them. But I do have 50+ available that are just various shots of the park. Enjoy this time capsule from August 1995.

Radiator Springs Racers - Puzzle Pieces Vol. 12

Whoa! 8 months since my last puzzle? Not sure what happened there. Anyway, this one continues the theme of the last few - posters of Disney California Adventure posters. This time: Radiator Springs Racers. Next time: something that isn’t DCA.

Snow Day at Mammoth Mountain

And now for something different - snow! No Disney or rollercoasters to be found. On our first trip to Mammoth Mountain since March 2020, we were actually snowed out from the actual mountain - no snowboarding or skiing. But we were still happy to have a snow day and end up doing a "snow crawl" for Val's birthday. Enjoy!
