Magic Mountain Mondays #9: The (Mighty) Metro

The loss of The Metro still stings.

I remember the letter wrinkled in my hand
”I’ll love you always” filled my eyes
I remember a night we walked along the Seine
Riding on the Metro

In August of 1995, I took a bunch of photos (on film no less) at Six Flags Magic Mountain using an inexpensive camera. I was working as an Operations supervisor at the time, and the purpose of the project was to create a slide show for an employee appreciation party for our Operations staff. I’ve carted these slides around for over 25 years and I finally had them digitally transferred this year. About 2/3s of them aren’t available for posting because they are crew pictures and I have no way to request permission to post them. But I do have 50+ available that are just various shots of the park. Enjoy this time capsule from August 1995.

Our June 2021 WDW Trip, Part 6! Disney's Animal Kingdom, pt. 2 | Dinosaur, Everest, trails, and more!

Our 2nd (and last) day at Disney's Animal Kingdom on this trip. We arrived at opening for Dinosaur and Everest, as well as an early snack at Satu'li Canteen. Whatever else we had planned was waylaid by a brief power outage that the park took a while to recover from. Still had a lot of fun - walked the Tree of Life and Tiger trails, met a dragon and a lizard, and then headed out for the rest of the day at EPCOT. But that's another episode. Enjoy!

Our June 2021 WDW Trip, Part 5! DHS half-day | Baseline, Muppet Vision, and more

It's the 2nd of our 3 Disney Hollywood Studios days. Early morning Rise of the Resistance boarding group, Muppet Vision 4-D, opening time at Baseline Taphouse, and just walking around. And yes, I'm still mad that Sam the Eagle was cutoff during his spiel. Enjoy!

Do you think the First Order uses DO-18 keys?

Our June 2021 WDW Trip, Part 3! Magic Kingdom | Peoplemover, Small World, Seven Dwarfs, more

Next stop: The Magic Kingdom. The first half of the day was spent riding rides and enjoying lunch at Skipper Canteen (not pictured here). Then we went to the Polynesian and Epcot, but that's the next video. Here's too much Small World, some Seven Dwarfs, and a lot of Peoplemover. Yes, I left in a lot of Peoplemover footage. I miss it. Enjoy.
